Basic and advanced felt making skills
This workshop is perfect for beginners ! You will learn different techniques that are basics for all felt making project:
surface design fiber painting
high quality cord making
felted connections
shaping forms out of a surface
Advanced feltmakers will enjoy my tips and ticks about high quality felt making. Sometimes it’s very important to get back to the basics to improuve.
From flowers to sculptural work
Back in 2005 I started felt making by creating flower lianas. These small objects are wonderful exercises to understand and improuve all kind of wet felting skills. Making the flower allows to see fiber painting techniques. Shaping it allows to understand how malleable felt can be when correctly executed. Being able to make a strong cord and connect cords and surfaces together is very helpful for handles and can be a fun element in all kind of sculptural work.
Necklaces or home decorations
Flower lianas can be used as accessories - a necklace, a hairband - and are beautiful in home decoration, too. You may arrange it on a table, in a (felted) vessel or even use it around a curtain. Last but not least, they are a brilliant gift idea to show your love!
