How to measure your hat size
Wonder what your head size is?
In order to buy a hat online, it’s very important to determinate your head size. That’s easizer than you may think!
Take a measure tape and lay it around your head as shown in the figure below :
Start in the back of you head, at the largest part of the occipital bone (just the sienctfiqu ename for the bone in you back ;)), cover the first third of your ears (just above the ear hole) and go to middle of you front. The circumference you get is your headsize.
I recommend measuring at least 3 times!
For more comfort, slide you thumb under the measure tape while measuring or add 0.5cm (0.2”).
Most common head size
Generally woman heads sizes in between 54 cm to 60 cm (21” to 23”). The average headsize is 56.5cm (22”).
Handy hat size converter
If you have a perfect fitting hat, you may check it’s size. Often it is indicated in “fitted”. With the handy converter you get the size in cm and inches.
Ariane Mariane’s hat sizes
The hats I make are generally a 56 / 57 cm ( 22”/22.5).
It’s easy for me to enlarge them if you need a bigger size. Some hats can also be easily reduced in size. However as soon as the are very sculptural I prefer making a similar one.
If I can resize a hat I don’t charge any extras. A similar one is considered as a custom order, means it is a bit higher in price. You then may also choose other color combinations or a variation in the design.
